Area 12 Yorkshire and Humberside.

Within our Area 12 asset support contract, covering the strategic road network in Yorkshire and Humberside we have a busy and sustainable workload operated from our base in Wakefield and at depots throughout the region. Our budget it circa £90 million including schemes up to £5 million in value delivered by a team of around 360 people.

Area 4 Kent and Sussex

Our Area 4 asset support is responsible for the motorways and key trunk roads in Kent, Sussex and small parts of Surrey and Hampshire.  The network includes  key international ports and airports including Gatwick, Channel Tunnel, Dover, Folkestone and Newhaven.

The diverse workforce of around 330 people are based at the head office, Kings Hill and at seven depots across our network within Kent and Sussex. We have frequent and on-going requirement for suitably skilled applicants to fulfil roles included in the Area 4 tab below.

Design Centre

The Design Centre supports programme development teams to deliver our Asset Support Contracts (ACS) in Area 12 and Area 4 producing highway and structures scheme designs. This increased capacity enables us to support Highways England as we head towards increased investment of the Strategic Road Network.

Duties include; developing agreed client options into schemes that maintain the strategic road network from initial feasibility through to pricing. The Design Centre also has the capability to produce traffic management design.

Health and Safety Advisor Area 4

This role is to support the safety, health and environment manager (SHE) and the Area 4 community with effective and efficient running of the SHE aspects of our integrated business management system and to also actively promote the A-one+ Quality, Safety & Environmental Policy.

You will be responsible for providing operational and functional management advice on the practical implementation of the company’s SHE policies and processes to the Area 4 teams and external stakeholders, such as customers if necessary. You will also provide advice on the prevention of accidents, incidents and ill-health, and be heavily involved in the preparation and delivery of SHE training and briefings as directed.

Essential requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction
  • Full UK Drivers License
  • 2-3 years relevant SHE experience in construction or engineering
  • Good I.T skills
