Mentor of the Year

Delighted to announce our success following the Generation 4 Change (G4C) Awards Yorkshire and Humber. Collins Karanya, one of our design team senior engineers was named WINNER in the ‘Mentor of the Year’ category, and Joel Moore one of our  apprentices, was recognised as Highly Commended in the ‘Trainee of the Year’ category

Collins submission showcases all the work he has put in towards developing the mentorship program at A-one+ and his commitment to developing the future leaders in the engineering and construction industry. Collins is a STEM ambassador working in the community and schools, engaging with young people inside and outside the classroom to encourage and explain the importance of science and engineering subjects. Collins role as a senior engineer demonstrates his personal commitment and development as an engineer.

Collins said: “Being shortlisted for this award brings a smile to my face, because I know I’m being recognised for my work and commitment towards becoming a future leader in the industry, while nurturing and encouraging new talent.”

Joel’s entry details his daily routine and responsibilities, describing his office manner and, how he demonstrates a positive impact on the construction industry. Joel said: “Being shortlisted proves to myself and A-one+ that I’m growing and learning as an engineer and that I am on the right path.  I will continue with the STEM events and other activities both in and out of work as these are helping me grow.”

The G4C Awards are now in their 4th Year, providing an exclusive opportunity for the region to celebrate outstanding examples of excellence and best practice within our sector.
