Last week the Highways UK 2017 event was held at the NEC, Birmingham.
Highways UK is for the people and organisations involved in the planning, designing, building, operating and future-proofing of the UK’s road network. It is not a trade show, but positioned to attract and capture strategic planning and thought leadership at the leading edge of UK road infrastructure development.
The agenda included key note speakers such as Lucy Fell, Health & Safety Director, Highways England, Mike Wilson, Chief Highways Engineer, Highways England, David Gibby, Former CIHT President, Pat Sheehan, Head of Health & Safety, Colas and A-one+ Managing Director, Clive Leadbetter among others.
Emma Hughes, Collaborative Learning and Improvement Coordinator for A-one+ delivered a presentation about our ‘Road to Wellbeing’ during one of the sessions.
Videos of the speakers and panel sessions will be available shortly. Go to Safer Highways UK for more information. The day was heavily packed with useful content sharing ways to develop and improve health, safety and wellbeing in our industry.
Day two of Highways UK was all about ‘Highways People’ and included a number of activities aimed at apprentices and graduates which our apprentices travelled down to participate in with key industry organisations.
2017 is now over and the organisers say thank you to the 3,017 delegates, 140 exhibitors and 153 speakers who made the event so special.
