We scooped not one but two wins last week at the Equality North East Awards 2016 during a special presentation evening at Ramside Hall in Durham.
We entered and won the ‘Improving Working Lives’ category based on their ongoing commitment to health and well being in the workplace. The submission demonstrated a range of activities organised and promoted by specially trained health advocates, our equality and diversity champions and charity and social team. Judges felt that the organisation does some fantastic work to support a very hard to reach group.
Impressed by our ‘Improving Working Lives’ entry the judges decided to put A-one+ forward for the ‘Outstanding Practice’ which we also won and is a further testament to our absolute dedication in keeping our people safe and well.
A-one+, General Manager, Mark Schofield, said; “Addressing health and wellbeing at work is our absolute duty of care; many of our team regularly working overnight and under pressure to keep the UK’s road network free flowing and safe. We are pleased with the recognition we have received but even more pleased with the benefits we have realised as a result of our efforts.”
