We’ve been working hard in the background developing our technology systems to improve our asset knowledge and efficiency. That hard work in collaboration with Highways England and our supply partners has recently paid off with A-one+ being shortlisted for two industry awards.
The first is finalist in the Best Use of New Technology for the Highways Awards and the second is finalist in the Digital Construction category for the Constructing Excellent in Yorkshire and Humber Awards.
After developing the Integrated Area Programme as a central source for users to check and identify opportunities to share closures and increase efficiencies we looked at other ways we could use the data.
The system is now fully automated with the added capability of auto analysing data sources providing traffic management sharing opportunities network wide.
The data is drawn from several sources and time enabled, live and automated through Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) models, programming scripts and task scheduling making sure that the latest data is always at the users’ fingertips.
The data is easily accessible via a URL without the need for specialist software or skills. We’ve also created live, interactive dashboards to visualise data and assist with decision making process for the user.
The benefits of the system reduce the amount of traffic management and road worker exposure, it improved customer satisfaction because of less disruption, streamlined processes minimising waste and is easily transferable to other areas on the strategic road network.
