CONGRATULATIONS! A-one+ walks away with 2 incredible WINS at the 2019 Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humberside Awards.

Our first win was the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Award with an entry describing our Wellbeing, Improvement, Safety, Health and Environment Strategy (aptly shortened to WISHES) and the journey we are travelling to eliminate the potential for harm.  Judges commented; “A-one+ have taken positive and decisive action throughout the contract to embed a health and safety culture that underpins clear strategy”. We also won the under £10 million Civils Project of the Year Award for a scheme installing a new type of combined noise barrier on the M1 junction 39. The barrier is a UK first, expertly combining vehicle restraint and noise barrier together; using less footprint it provides continuous protection and reduces future maintenance.  The scheme produced significant efficiency savings and the innovative barrier solution is approved to use elsewhere on the strategic network. The ceremony was held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on July 11. Organised by the School of Built Environment and Engineering at Leeds Beckett University: The Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber (CEYH) awards focus attention on the important issues in our sector while recognising the best companies, collaborations and projects sharing best practice and inspiring innovation.

Our worthy winners will now go on to represent Yorkshire and Humber at the National Constructing Excellence awards in November. Watch this space!
