A-one+ has been announced as finalists in two of the industry’s prestigious national awards with our Integrated Area Programme (IAP). A positive start to 2021!
Up first is the award for Highways Awards ‘Best Use of New Technology in the Highways Industry’. Winners will be announced during a virtual ceremony on Thursday 28 January 2021.
Next is the Constructing Excellence National Awards ‘Digital Construction’ with the online ceremony taking place Friday 29 January 2021.
Having been shortlisted in the digital innovation category at last year’s constructing excellence awards, the A-one+ GIS Integrated Area Programme has gone from strength to strength, following a successful funding bid through Highways England’s innovation programme, the software has been invested in and further developed to achieve and automated, network wide, analysis of optimal network occupancy.
The IAP was already a success, using front end, web-based GIS interface combining multiple data sources enabling real-time visibility of network occupancy and traffic management sharing opportunities.
Collaborating with data solution provider miso we identified a Feature Manipulation Server (FME) server as the technology solution for automated analysis of traffic management opportunities. FME is a network data transformation application and is already used in Highways England, this means that the solution we’ve developed can be replicated across other areas and regions quickly, easily and cost effectively.
Benefits of the solution include:
· The ability to read multiple data sources
· Automated date and proximity analysis
· Unique sharing ID’s containing network occupancy data sets for each sharing opportunity
· Outputs for non-GIS users
· Email alerts to inform stakeholders of changes to sharing opportunities
The Integrated Area Programme turns data into information that helps us deliver LEAN construction.
Congratulations to everyone involved and fingers crossed for next week.
