A-one+ Safety Theatre HUK 2018
A-one+ is a proud supporter of Highways UK which is the flagship event for the people and organisations involved in the planning, designing, building, operating and future-proofing of the UK’s road network. It returns to the NEC, Birmingham on 7/8 November 2018.
The A-one+ Safety Theatre is crucial element of the 2-day programme, where we will explore how taking a safe systems approach underpins making our roads safe to work and travel upon.
The full safety theatre programme can be found here but headliners include;
· Deborah Sims, Senior Lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Greenwich and CIHT Safety Panel member
· Mike Wilson, Chief Engineer and Executive Director, Highways England
· Kate Carpenter, CIHT Road Safety Panel & Jacobs Road Safety Services
And, on day 2 we dedicate the morning to suicide prevention with Katy Harrison, Technical Advisor for the Safer Roads People Team (Safety, Engineering and Standards) at Highways England & CIHT Panellist talking about Highways England’s approach to improve the safety of its roads. Particularly reducing the number of people who attempt to take their lives and lessening the devastating impact suicide has on others.
Following this we have a workshop from If U Care Share exploring mental health, suicide and proven ways for you to spot signs and offer support to someone that might be struggling. The foundation is a registered charity that provides emotional and practical support with three aims; prevention, intervention and support after suicide.
The event comprises a multi-stream conference combined with a major exhibition and is free to attend. Register your place here.
You’ll find details of the full event programme in the what’s on section of the website.
