Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
- Safety of the road-user and our staff is A-one's top priority. A-one's approach to Health and Safety is based on zero tolerance to unsafe working practices. Everyone in the A-one organisation is empowered to take action on safety related issues and every incident will be reported and investigated and corrective actions implemented.
- The A-one organisation is committed to the development and maintenance of the highway network within its control, with the application of a positive design culture that demands the highest levels of safety and risk mitigation.
- A-one is fully committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of its staff, so far as is reasonably practicable. We also fully accept our responsibility for other persons who may be affected by our activities and to minimise the environmental impact of those activities. We will ensure that our statutory duties are met at all times.
- Processes and systems of work will be designed to take account of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and will be properly resourced and supervised at all times to reflect the company's committment to comply with all applicable legistlation.
- Suitable facilities and arrangements will be maintained for all A-one staff and their representatives to raise Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
- A-one is committed to improve its Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems and performance to prevent work related ill health and accidents, and to effectively manage environmental emissions, waste and use of energy with the aim of preventing pollution and minimizing waste.
- We are committed to using and continually improving our processes and procedures within the A-one Integrated Business Management System to achieve our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental objectives by providing apporpriate training, personal development and effective communications.
- A-one will make this policy available to its staff, stakeholders and other interested parties.
- All A-one staff will be given appropriate information, instruction and training to ensure the safe performance of all work activities and minimise the impact on the environment.
- Everyone within A-one has a legal obligation to comply with statutory duties and utilise the established systems, practices and training that are provided, both for themselves and others.
