Parking is limited both at Halcrow's offices and in the surrounding area. Please contact the office beforehand if you wish to reserve a visitor’s space in the underground car park. There are three park and ride sites in the Bristol area. To reach the office:
Leave the M4 at Junction 19
Follow the M32 into central Bristol until reaching Newfoundland Circus
Follow signs for Temple Meads Station, bearing left in front of the newly constructed buildings (House of Fraser)
Carry straight on through the underpass and over the river bridge
Turn left at signal controlled roundabout (Temple Circus) onto Friary
Turn left at the next roundabout for the underground car park for 1 The Square.
Turn right after 35 metres and use the intercom on the ramp to contact Halcrow reception to gain access to the car park.
Bristol Temple Meads is the city's central railway station and is two minutes' walk from the office. The following principal services call at the station:
from London Paddington, Reading, Swindon and Bath: half hourly frequency operated by First Great Western
from Cardiff and Newport: half hourly frequency operated by First Great Western
from Portsmouth, Southampton and Salisbury: hourly frequency operated by First Great Western
from Birmingham and Cheltenham and the North: broadly half-hourly InterCity services operated by Cross Country Trains
from Plymouth, Exeter and Taunton: broadly half-hourly InterCity services operated by Cross Country Trains
To reach the office, pass through the ticker barriers and head straight on, ignoring the main entrance on your left and following signs to the ferry stop. Pass through an open-air car park and down a ramp. Continue straight on passing a row of shops on your left. The entrance to the building is on the left before The Square and Halcrow's reception is on the first floor.
Many city bus services pass close to the Halcrow office and call at bus stops either on Temple Way or Temple Gate. The city's bus station is a fifteen minute walk to the north. Most local services are operated by First Group.
All three Park and Ride services stop close to the office. From Brislington P & R, alight at Temple Gate (opposite Temple Meads Station Approach). From Portway and Long Ashton P & R alight on Temple Way (outside the City Inn hotel).
Public bicycle parking is available in The Square. Please contact reception if you would like to use the cycle parking in the underground car park. Showers are available in the office.
By aeroplane:
Bristol International Airport is located to the South-West of the city. A dedicated coach service, the British International Flyer, runs between the airport, Temple Meads Station, the city centre bus station and Clifton. Catch a service 330 or 331 coach (a 15 minute frequency and 25 minute journey) to Temple Meads and follow the directions above from the rail station.
