Welcome to A-one Integrated Highway Services

The A-one Integrated Highways Services joint venture company between Halcrow Group Limited and Colas Limited combines the culture and expertise from both companies who are renowned for their wealth of experience and expertise within the highways sector.

Appointed by the Highways Agency as Managing Agent Contractor (MAC) for the Area 14 network initially for a four year contract from July 2003, A-one was successfully awarded in July 2006 a three year extension to 2010. This contract has an estimated value of £25 million per annum.

As Managing Agent Contractor for Area 14, we are responsible for the operation, maintenance and improvement of motorways and trunk roads in the north east of England. The duties of the MAC include the provision of an integrated network management service, routine, cyclic and bridge maintenance, winter maintenance and the design and construction of capital maintenance schemes.
